Is Tim Tebow one and done with Jets? - ESPN (blog)

The Jets acquisition of popular quarterback Tim Tebow received a ton of media attention nationally and has made for daily headlines in New York.

But the Tebow era could be a short one, according to a report in the New York Daily News. The paper reports Tebow could request a trade or release at the end of this season if he remains stuck behind starting quarterback Mark Sanchez.

"I think he will be a good soldier," a source told the paper. "At the end of the year, I think he will express those concerns to the Jets. He will want to move on."

One and done for Tebow in New York?

Ouch!

Tebow still has two years remaining on his rookie contract that will make him a Jet until 2014. Sanchez also just signed a three-year extension through 2016. If Sanchez plays well, like he did in Week 1, Tebow could be a backup in New York for the duration of his contract.

It's no secret Tebow is a competitor. In Tebow's mind, he's confident he can be a starting quarterback again after he led the Denver Broncos to the playoffs last year and advanced to the divisional round.

But will Tebow's competitiveness get the best of him as a backup? Will Tebow want out of New York after just one year?
