He's used to the limelight on the gridiron, but new Jets quarterback Tim Tebow will be performing for a higher power when he delivers Easter sermon at a Texas church Sunday â" a spectacle expected to draw 30,000 people.
Tebow, perhaps as much known for his vocal Christian faith as his game-changing scrambles from the pocket, was give the 10 a.m. address at Celebration Church in Georgetown, Texas, local TV station KVUE reported.
âObviously itâs our Super Bowl,â said Joe Champion, pastor at the Celebration Church. âEaster is the resurrection of Christ, which we celebrate in our faith. We feel like itâs going to be a testimony to the community. We want it to be a family event.â

Although the quarterback's habit of praying on bended knee during games is an inspiration to some and an object of parody â" the phenomenon has been dubbed "Tebowing" â" Champion said the real star will be a higher one.
âThere will be the sacredness of Easter,â Champion said. âItâs not a Tim Tebow show. Itâs not about a celebrity. Thereâs really only one celebrity that we are going to honor and highlight.â
Champion told the station he's not sure why Tebow picked his church, but did say the quarterback did not request to speak on Easter Sunday.
The church is erecting bleachers on its 60-acre outdoor space in anticipation of huge crowds. Tebow will speak for about 20 minutes.
