While the New York Jets have done everything in their power to make it known that Mark Sanchez is the starting quarterback of their team, the aura that hovers around Tim Tebow will always loom over this team as long as he is on the roster.
Tebow was born to be a starter.
Who is the better starting QB?
Who is the better starting QB?
-
Mark Sanchez

Tim Tebow
As much as that sounds great on paper, with a serious lack of offensive weapons, Sanchez will struggle at times. As soon as he throws a few interceptions, the call for Tebow will start to begin.
Thatâs something the Jets organization better have taken into consideration.
Jets third-string QB Greg McElroy told the Wall Street Journal about the speculation that Tebow will be the full-time starter if Sanchez were ever injured or pulled:
We don't speculate what the situation is. Obviously, Tim's a fantastic player and I think he would do a great job in that role, but we don't want to worry about a situation like that. Mark is our starter and we're going to follow him the best way we know how, and that's really what we're going to focus on. If something were to happen down the road, God forbid, we'll figure it out then.
As much as McElroy has remained the company man in this situation, he knows that he is not going to get any more snaps because Sanchez would go down or get pulled; the Jets will get Tebow on the field as much as possible.

All of these signs are pointing directly to a rise for Tebow on the depth chart to the starting job just like he did with the Denver Broncos last year.
Whether it comes because of an injury or at the hand of Rex Ryan because of poor play, Tebow will be the starter for the Jets before too much of the season passes.
Once he has the reignsâ"just as he did in 2011 with the Broncosâ"he will lead his team to shocking wins and steal the starting job.
Say what you want about Tebowâs arm, but the man wins games; last time I checked, thatâs all that matters in the NFL.
