Tim Tebow kicks off Jockey's 'Hot City Cool Down' campaign - Fibre2fashion.com

As summer temperatures start to soar, underwear giant Jockey International Inc., is on a mission to help hot American cities stay cool. Jockey brought professional quarterback and Jockey spokesperson Tim Tebow to Orlando and Tampa, Florida to kick off Jockey's "Hot City Cool Down" campaign.

The special events celebrated the company's "staycool" line of innovative underwear that regulates skin temperature, helping the wearer feel cool and comfortable.

Jockey cools down Orlando

Tim Tebow and Jockey brought some much needed relief from the summer heat to Orlando by transforming an outdoor pavilion at Orlando Premium Outlets - Vineland Avenue into this season's coolest fashion show. Tebow co-emceed the "Hot City Cool Down" event in front of 300 guests.

Male and female underwear-clad models walked the runway, highlighting Jockey staycool styles and strutting Jockey's latest offerings. The fashion show was also streamed live on Jockey's Facebook page and Twitter users followed comments about the show using the hashtag #staycool.

After the show, fans were treated to a massive staycool product giveaway from Jockey and free ice cream treats as part of the cool down experience.

Even though the second Orlando fashion show was cancelled due to inclement weather, Tebow didn't let the weather rain on his fans' parade. As a substitute for the show, Jockey invited fans to join Tim Tebow at the Jockey Outlet store where he posed for photos at an intimate reception.

Jockey helps Tampa staycool

As part of the campaign, Tebow also joined Jockey yesterday morning for a special visit to MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, where the quarterback and Jockey officials paid tribute to men and women of the U.S. military, honoring and thanking them for their service and sacrifice.

The event featured a private reception and a lengthy interview with Tebow at the Base's theater.  Jockey presented a $5,000 check to the Friends of Military Families organization of MacDill, an organization supplying financial support to military families in need. In addition, attendees beat the heat with free Jockey staycool T-shirts.

Jockey's "Hot City Cool Down" campaign will run throughout the summer with giveaways, prizes and special offers to help keep consumers cool.

"We are excited to kick off Jockey's 'Hot City Cool Down' campaign to celebrate our staycool collection and help America keep cool this summer," said Dustin Cohn, Jockey chief marketing officer. "It was wonderful giving the state of Florida a very cool opportunity to meet with Tim Tebow today."

Jockey staycool incorporates an Outlast technology treatment that uses phase change materials (PCMs) that absorb, store and release excess heat to maintain optimal external body temperature.
