Tim Tebow is the player that every analyst seems to love to hate. They continually mention his poor mechanics and the 46.5 percent completion rate and 72.9 passer rating he posted last year. They also bring up the thrashing that the Broncos took at the hands of the eventual Super Bowl runner-up New England Patriots.
What they fail to mention is the ride he took the Broncos on to qualify for the playoffs or the victory they had over the Steelers. Like the heroic game LeBron James had against the Pistons when he was with the Cavs en route to the NBA Finals, that part gets swept under the rug.
The same goes for the 660 yards and six touchdowns he ran for last year. Even in limited use as a rookie he ran for 227 yards and six scores.
Sure, he got dealt to the Jets and he’ll start the year off playing behind Mark Sanchez. That should remain the case all year, but I wouldn’t put it past Rex Ryan to roll with Tebow and the Jets’ tough defense if it looks like that Tebow gives them a better chance to win.
As it stands though, it looks like Tebow will be used in a Wildcat situation. They are asking him to bulk up to 250 pounds. He will get his carries and short scores, which puts a damper on Shonn Greene’s fantasy value. Tebow will have weeks that he’ll be a productive fantasy player. He will be a risky option, though.
If you are in a TD-heavy league and Tebow gets RB eligibility, then he would be worth considering.  Until then, he’s a wait and see player. If Sanchez goes down or Tebow gets the starting gig somehow, he would be a virtual lock to put up big fantasy numbers.
