Plaxico Burress isn't still pining for a reunion with Eli Manning, and he has no interest in catching passes from Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez.Â
Where does the 34-year-old wideout want to play next season? If Burress has his way, he'll line up with a young QB, Cam Newton, as a member of the Carolina Panthers.Â
That's what he said on Monday, in a radio interview on WFNZ in Charlotte.Â
"My brother lives right there in Charlotte, my cousin lives there in Charlotte, and all my family is there in Columbia, South Carolina," Burress told the station. "It would just be a great situation all the way around being close to everybody.Â
"Not just that, but playing with Cam, who I think is one of the top five quarterbacks in all of football, and as long as I can remember, Steve Smith has been one of my favorite. I just think it's a great situation."
This isn't the first time Burress has expressed interest in a club this offseason. A few months ago, he mentioned the Philadelphia Eagles as a possible landing spot. But Philly is well-stocked with other talent in Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson, who signed a five-year extension in March.Â
Burress said he has fielded calls from a handful of teams this offseason, but he hasn't found the perfect landing spot yet.Â
"I just want to put myself in a position to go out and have success and to make the guys around me better, and obviously play with a quarterback who can really play the position," he said. "It's just about me picking my spots and seeing where I'm a good fit. You just look at a situation like Carolina. You can't come across a better situation than that."
