Gabbert had "not a worry in the world" about Jaguars adding Tebow - NBCSports.com

Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert knows how close he came to a training camp competition with Tim Tebow in which Jacksonville fans would have been rooting for him to fail. But Gabbert says he would have been fine for that.

Speaking to John Oehser of Jaguars.com, Gabbert said head coach Mike Mularkey and General Manager Gene Smith have kept him informed about the team’s offseason moves, including the attempt to acquire Tebow in a trade with the Broncos. And Gabbert said he wasn’t the least bit concerned.

“It was not a worry in the world,” Gabbert said. “They had to do their due diligence evaluating players. It’s the nature of the business. You have to do that in order to build a complete football team.”

Gabbert said he’s also perfectly fine with quarterback Chad Henne being added to the roster, and that he sensed “a renewed sense of energy” on the first day of offseason work.

Just nothing close to the kind of energy Tebowmania would have generated in Jacksonville.
